with a Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C portįunny thing is that the Lenovo T580 did not have any Monitor flickering issues with the HyperDrive Slim 8-in-1 HDMI port, only with my 2019 MacBook Pro 16" i9. I have a Lenovo T580 with Windows 10 installed. I'm new to MacBook and HyperDrive so all the steps in the procedure implied that I would have to install Windows to my MacBook (Bootcamp, etc.), something I have no clue about doing (or desire to do - at the moment) The firmware update procedure was a bit confusing to me. We would be more than happy to complete the update for you to allow you to have a properly working HyperDrive. If you are unable to complete the update or choose not to, we encourage you to reach out to us directly at you have not done so already. Once completed, you will notice the screen no longer flickers. If you already have it, you can skip the download labeled '(2)'. Windows 10 is free to download (see below) and can be used without a license. To complete the process, you will need Windows 10 through BootCamp, or a Windows computer with a USB-C port that can support video. This issue was discovered shortly after the release of the 16" MacBook Pro and also affects the 15" MacBook Pro. If you have the latest version of macOS and you've noticed your screen flickering when an external display is plugged in, you may need to update the firmware. If you have any other model, this firmware update does not apply to you. We have an article for the Pro 8-in-2 here. This firmware update only applies to the HyperDrive Slim 8-in-1.
